Five-star safety rating
In frontal crash test ratings, the 2008 Milan earned five stars – the highest possible score.* The test, in which a vehicle is crashed into a fixed barrier at 35 miles per hour (mph), simulates a head-on collision between two similar vehicles, each moving at 35 mph.
*Star ratings are part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Safercar.gov program (www.safercar.gov). 2008 vehicles produced on or after August 15, 2007.

Personal Safety System®
Milan provides enhanced airbag protection. The standard Personal Safety System® coordinates safety belt and front airbag management to enhance front-occupant protection in certain frontal collisions.
Utilizing a network of sensors, the system customizes the deployment of the dual-stage front airbags* based on the driver’s seat position, Front Passenger Sensing System, whether the front safety belts are in use and the overall severity of the impact.
*Always wear your safety belt and secure children in the rear seat.

Reinforced Frame
Engineered to help protect you and your occupants. The Milan body structure features steel and polycarbonate front and rear crumple zones that deform, channeling energy away in front and rear impacts. In certain side impacts, side-intrusion door beams help manage obtrusions into the cabin. Augmenting this protective body structure are six standard airbags.

All-Wheel Drive
Get enhanced traction when you need it most. Whether the roadway is filled with gravel, ice-covered or wet, the first-in-class available* all-wheel-drive (AWD) system can help provide more sure-footed traction. AWD is fully automatic, which means it instantly delivers traction to the wheels needing it the most when wheelslip is detected.
Milan also features standard Traction Control, which improves vehicle traction and steering control without sacrificing dry-pavement performance. It allows progressive braking to be applied at each wheel to transfer torque from slipping wheels to the wheels that have traction. Traction Control is standard on the V-6 Milan and V-6 Premier models.
*Based on sedans under $21,000 in EPA midsize car class.
