This advanced feature can help you stay in control. The AdvanceTrac® electronic stability enhancement system* with class-exclusive Roll Stability Control (RSC®) automatically applies the brakes and modulates engine torque to help maintain control whenever it detects wheelslip, understeer or oversteer. It also helps maintain more control in adverse road conditions such as ice, gravel or rain.**

**Remember that even advanced technology cannot overcome the laws of physics. It’s always possible to lose control of a vehicle due to inappropriate driver input for the conditions.

Mariner helps provide protection for you and your passengers. There are six strategically placed airbags - driver and passenger front airbags, standard seat-mounted front side airbags and side-curtain airbags* (part of the Safety Canopy™ system) - that deploy from the headliner on both sides of the vehicle. A rollover sensor directs side-curtain and side airbag deployment in the event of a rollover or certain side-impact collisions. The side-curtain airbags remain inflated longer to help further protect outboard occupants in both rows.

In addition, Mariner has an innovative system that uses a network of sensors to enhance protection for the driver and front passenger in certain frontal collisions. It customizes the deployment of the dual-stage front airbags* based on several criteria: 1) the driver’s seat position; 2) whether the front passenger seat is occupied and their and their weight range; 3) whether the front safety belts are in use; 4) and the overall severity of the impact.

A little help securing your most precious cargo. Mariner features Lower Anchors and Tether anchors for CHildren (LATCH) for compatible child safety seats placed in the rear outboard seat positions. Designed for ease of use, these anchors make securing infant and child safety seats quick and convenient, while helping ensure your confidence.

Get enhanced traction when you need it most. Whether the road is filled with gravel, covered with ice or soaked by rain, the Intelligent Four-Wheel-Drive System (4WD) helps provide more sure-footed traction. Because 4WD is fully automatic, it instantly delivers traction to the wheels needing it the most when wheelslip is detected. Optional on all Mariner models.
